Tissington Hall The whole group together Outside Tissington Hall

Our trip to Tissington Hall in the Peak District, Derbyshire, took place towards the end of July. We were extremely lucky with the weather, it had been raining the day before and it rained the day after. Our visit was blessed with glorious sunshine.
Relaxing in the gardens
We arrived in the village of Tissington with time to spare before the Hall opened. Most of us decended on the Coach House tea rooms and enjoyed some refreshments.
Once the Hall opened we strolled down the road and purchased our tickets. As the Hall is a privately owned home there is a limit to how many visitors can go in at a time. We had a very good guided tour and heard all about the history of this marvellous building. The gardens are quite extensive and well worth a look round.

Once we left the hall it was back to the Coach House where we were looking forward to a light meal. What a disappointment to find they had stopped serving any food apart from cakes, scones and crumpets. Not quite what we had in mind.
Our coach driver returned at the appointed hour and we headed back to Loscoe. Tissington Hall is well worth a visit.
