Stratford-upon-Avon Welcome sign.

Here you will find a few photos from our fantastic day
in the beautiful town of Stratford-upon-Avon.
We met outside Loscoe Post Office at 9 o'clock
on a glorious sunny day in September.
The bus was waiting and we left Loscoe right on time,
arriving in Stratford at 10.30am. Janet Padgham and Margaret Allen, outside Shakespears Birth place Outside Shakespears Birth place

On the open top bus.
On arrival we all went our seperate ways in small groups, and some of us decided
to take a trip on an open top bus that travelled in a circular route right round the town.
It stopped at all the Tourist Attractions that a visitor might want to see,
allowing people to get off and have a proper look around.
On route the bus stopped at a number of places including
Hall's Croft, Nash House, New Place, Anne Hathaway's Cottage and Mary Arden's Farm.

We didn't have time to visit all the houses, but enjoyed the views from
the top of the bus. Living Statue

One of the little side streets. The American Fountain

Stratford is a beautiful town to walk round, we went to the market and also
popped into the Christmas Shop. It is open all year. Outside the Christmas Shop

Lovely old buildings. Canal Boat.
Once the bus tour had finished, our walk back to the centre of town took us along side the canal,
where there were a couple of boats moored up at the path.
One boat was a Picture Gallery and another
was a place to buy refreshments.

Waiting for the bus

Husbands came too.
We spent some time sitting outside a lovely cafe
in the town centre, enjoying a welcome cup of coffee.
It was then time to head back to get the bus.
Stratford is certainly a place we would like to return to.
